Description
ALB is a multifunctional object, part stool, part side table, part container for the quiet things we like to keep close. A book, a blanket, a place to sit, or set something down. It flips, turns, and adapts: always offering something new.
Its name comes from the Arabic word “قلب” ( alb ), meaning “to flip” or “to turn.” The inspiration comes from home, from my mother’s intuitive way of using everyday objects in many ways. A jar wasn’t just a jar: it held olive oil one season, kabis the next, sometimes dried herbs. A stool could become a surface, a step, a resting spot.
ALB carries this spirit into a single form. Three planes interlock to create a structure that’s both minimal and multifunctional. Flip it, and it becomes a seat, a table, or a simple volume to store soft things like a folded throw. Use one or combine several. Let it respond to the moment.
ALB speaks the language of thoughtful utility: born from necessity, shaped by care. It celebrates the kind of design that already exists in our homes, clever, adaptable, and made to last.
More than a piece of furniture, ALB is a tribute to our mothers, to transformation, and to the quiet beauty of things that are never just one thing.
